What Does This Tool Do?
This converter reads a .docx file's internal structure — its paragraphs, headings, alignment and character formatting — and renders it onto A4 pages as a real PDF, complete with selectable, searchable text. It is not a screenshot of your document and not a low-resolution scan; the PDF is built directly from the same content Word stores.
Text is set in Helvetica, a close visual match to Word's own default fonts. Headings (Heading 1, 2 and 3), left/center/right paragraph alignment, and bold, italic and underlined runs within a paragraph all carry over. Inline images (PNG and JPEG) are embedded too, scaled down to fit the page when needed. Tables come through as tab-separated rows rather than a full grid — the goal is a faithful, readable document rather than a pixel-perfect clone.

Privacy: Where Your Files Go
Converting a document format means reading its full internal structure, so this tool does the work on our servers rather than in your browser. Files travel over HTTPS, are converted, and the PDF comes straight back to you. They are never sold, shared with third parties or used for advertising.
That said, uploading is uploading. If a document contains material you are not permitted to transmit — medical records, unreleased financials, client data under NDA — use a desktop tool instead. We would rather say that plainly than claim a privacy guarantee this design cannot make.
Word to PDF vs. PDF to Word
This tool goes one direction: Word into PDF. If you need to go the other way — pull the text back out of a PDF into an editable document — use the Pdf to Word tool. The two are not perfectly symmetric: converting to PDF preserves layout because a PDF is a fixed page description, while converting back to Word necessarily reflows the text, since a PDF does not store "paragraphs" the way a Word document does.
Tips for a Clean Conversion
- Use Word's built-in Heading 1/2/3 styles rather than just making text bold and bigger — the converter reads the style, not the visual size.
- Remove passwords before uploading; encrypted files are rejected rather than silently skipped.
- Keep tables simple if you rely on them; complex multi-column layouts read best as plain paragraphs.
- Re-check the PDF's page breaks on long documents — text reflows to A4 pages with standard margins.
- Save as .docx (not .doc) before uploading if your file was created in an older version of Word.

Are images from my Word document included in the PDF?
Yes, for PNG and JPEG images — the two formats the vast majority of pasted or inserted pictures in a Word document use. Each image is placed at the size you set in Word, shrunk down only if it would otherwise overflow the page. GIF, BMP, TIFF and vector formats (EMF/WMF, common for pasted charts or clip art) are not currently supported and are skipped rather than shown as a broken image.
What font does the PDF use?
Text is set in Helvetica, a close match to Word's own default fonts. The converter does not embed your original fonts, since that requires a licensed font program rather than the open, dependency-free engine this tool runs on.
How large a document can I convert?
Up to 50 MB per file. Longer documents automatically flow across multiple A4 pages.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Yes. Converting a document format requires parsing its internal structure, so the file is sent over HTTPS to our processing service and the PDF is sent back. Files are never shared with third parties or used for advertising — avoid uploading confidential documents you are not comfortable transmitting.
Can I convert a password-protected Word document?
No. Remove the password in Word first (Review or File > Info > Protect Document), then upload the file.
Can I set the PDF page size or margins?
Not yet. Every document is rendered onto A4 pages with roughly 2 cm margins, which suits the vast majority of letters, reports and CVs.
Why did my conversion fail?
The usual causes are a file that is not really a .docx despite its extension (a renamed .doc, for example), a corrupted download, or a file over the 50 MB limit. The error message explains which.
